Plateau State Government has expressed its readiness to partner with Brazilian companies to boost Agricultural production across the state.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang stated this when he received a delegation from Brazil at the Government House in Little Rayfield, Jos.
The Plateau State Government has continue to explore Public-Private Partnerships, PPPs, as a strategic path to develop key economic sectors—particularly agriculture.
Welcoming the Brazilian investors, Governor Caleb Mutfwang said his administration is committed to generating robust activities within the state’s agricultural ecosystem.
The Governor commended the delegation for their strong background in dairy production, noting that efforts have already commenced in the state to produce cheese and other dairy products.
He lauded President Bola Tinubu for creating the Ministry of Livestock Development, saying it would provide a solid platform to expand the livestock value chain.
Governor Mutfwang emphasized that PPPs remain the best model for advancing agribusiness and creating employment opportunities.
Leader of the Brazilian delegation and Senior Special Adviser to the President on Delivery and Coordination, Akubo Adegbe, said the team was in Plateau for an on-the-spot assessment of potential investment sites.
The aim, he said, is to strategize collaboration between a Brazilian consortium and local companies.
He urged the state government to seize the opportunity and open its doors for investment.
In another engagement, Governor Mutfwang received a delegation from Christian Health Association of Nigeria CHAN and its partner, the World Vision International.
He commended the organizations for their contributions to the health sector and urged faith-based institutions to continue playing active roles in improving people’s lives.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Suleiman Mtshelia, applauded the Governor for his openness and support for NGO activities in the state. He briefed the Governor on their achievements so far and sought his blessings as the organization enters a new phase of operations in Plateau.
The delegation also appealed for government support to establish an office complex, reaffirming their mission to alleviate the suffering of underserved communities across the state.

The Governor stated this when he declared opened a One Day Multi-Stakeholder Roundtable Dialogue On Community Policing As A Panacea For Insecurity In Nigeria; The Case Study Of Plateau State.
Government House correspondent reports the dialogue which held at Sarau Event Centre in Hwolshe, Jos is organized by the Gideon and Funmi Para – Mallam Peace Foundation.
Organized in partnership with the Plateau State Peace Building Agency to further conversation around the best options to secured Plateau communities, the Gideon and Funmi Para – Mallam Peace Foundation drew Traditional Leaders, Security Agencies, Government in some of the regularly attacked Areas and experts to a roundtable dialogue with a view to projecting a formidable stand on what have become a National discourse.
Declaring the dialogue opened, Governor Caleb Mutfwang unearthed practical realities confronting the Nigerian Security, throwing his weight behind the creation of State Police on the belief that the present Police structure is too large to be run from Abuja.
He advocated a decentralized policing system which will be responsive to local security needs because Internal Security is Community-based.
Keynote speaker on the dialogue and former Inspector General of Police Dr Solomon Arase urged for a rethink on the clamour for State Police, proposing a Community Policing model which is regionally – based with configuration to serve the peculiarity of local security demands. President and Chief Executive Officer of the Gideon and Funmi Para – Mallam Peace Foundation Rev Dr Gideon Para-Mallam said because of the wanton killings of human lives in Plateau State and the systemic challenges the Nigeria Police Force is grappling with, the Foundation found it imperative to support the clamour for creation of Community Police.
Para – Mallam noted that despite all efforts to reform the Police, communities in Plateau State persistently come under attacks with vulnerable targeted for killing.
In separate remarks, the Director General of Plateau State Peace Building Agency Dr Julie Sanda and the State Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Adeshina both alluded to the fact that the dialogue is timely giving that proactive policing requires availing credible intelligence and getting closer to people.
