Ahmed Musa, one of Nigeria’s most decorated footballers, has announced his retirement from international football, bringing an end to a remarkable 15-year career with the Super Eagles.
In an emotional message reflecting on his journey, Musa revealed that he first answered Nigeria’s call at just 17 years old and went on to become the most capped Super Eagles player, earning 111 international appearances. Over the years, he established himself as a symbol of consistency, leadership, and national pride.
Musa’s international career is highlighted by major milestones, including winning the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and becoming Nigeria’s highest goalscorer in FIFA World Cup history. Beyond the goals and trophies, he also served as captain of the national team, leading by example both on and off the pitch.
Describing himself as a “Captain. Servant. Believer,” Musa emphasized that he gave everything to the national team and expressed deep gratitude to Nigerians for their unwavering support throughout his career.
