Citizens of Barkin Ladi Local Government have been urged to work in unity in order to address security challenges and fully enjoy the benefits of democracy.

The appeal was made by the Member representing the constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly during a constituency briefing and presentation of his scorecard held in Barkin Ladi.

The programme organised by Member representing Barkin Ladi constituency Dickson Chollom brought together stakeholders, different political parties, religious leaders, women groups, youth groups among others

Addressing the gathering, the lawmaker reassured the people of his commitment to providing the needed support to improve the lives of his constituents.

Chollom, who emphasized that effective representation remains his priority, highlighted some of his achievements, which include the sponsorship of several bills and motions, alongside impactful interventions in security, education, agriculture, and road development.

As part of his interventions, the lawmaker noted that several new boreholes were provided across different communities while others were rehabilitated.

Commending the legislator’s contributionsespecially in enhancing security, Gwom Rwei of Hiepang, Da Paul Tok, on behalf of the traditional council, called for more proactive measures to address the insecurity in the area.

Earlier, in a welcome address, the Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Council, Pwajok Gyang, represented by his Deputy, Pam Felix, reaffirmed the council’s commitment and appealed for continued support from the people to enable both local and state governments succeed.
